MY WORK
My art is deeply personal, a place where I escape the noise of everyday life and find refuge in creativity. It’s a journey of self-discovery—a dialogue between my emotions and the landscapes that inspire me. Each piece I create reveals something new, often unearthing stories, memories, and emotions that I didn’t even know were there. It’s as much about what I feel as it is about what I see—an ongoing exploration of my inner world through layers of texture, color, and composition.
Nature is at the heart of my work, a soulful reflection of my connection to the world around me. The expansiveness of horizons, the elegance of aspens, and the grandeur of mountains all fuel my creative spirit. I believe we all share a deep bond with nature, and through my art, I want to invite others to pause and connect with its beauty. It’s a reminder to reflect on cherished memories, to feel inspired by the wonder of the world, and to consider how we might preserve it for the future.
Alongside my nature-inspired pieces, I create abstract collages using scrap paper, fabric, and other materials to tell stories without words. Through balanced shapes, colors, and textures, these works invite curiosity, joy, and personal reflection.
Negative space is key in my work, creating balance and letting each form breathe. My art explores harmony and the quiet power of stillness amid life’s movement.
BIO
Nuha Moretz is a Yemeni-American abstract artist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her artistic journey began in high school in Tokyo, Japan, where she developed a deep passion for creativity and an appreciation for simplicity in visual form.
Before fully dedicating herself to art, Nuha earned an M.A. in International Studies as a Fulbright Scholar and worked internationally in education reform and gender equity across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. These experiences have profoundly enriched the emotional depth and cross-cultural perspective of her work.
Influenced by minimalist Japanese aesthetics, negative space, and the quiet elegance of form, Nuha’s art explores themes of balance, memory, and contrast. In 2020, she committed fully to her art practice, drawing inspiration from nature and modern masters such as Rothko and Agnes Martin.
Nuha’s work has been exhibited locally and internationally and is held in private collections worldwide.
